India Study Programme

The University Centre for International Cooperation (UCIC) established the India Study Programme for international students as part of the internalization programme in Mahatma Gandhi University. The India Study programme was supported by the Kerala State Higher Education Council. The following activities were initiated under this programme:

A. Launched a separate website for international students;
B. Published an international brochure for promoting India Study programme;
C. Submitted proposal to the Government of Kerala for the construction of an international students/scholars hostel;
D. Completed credit transfer regulation for foreign students;
E. Completed P.G and PhD regulation for foreign students
F. UCIC members participated in the International Relations Group meeting held on 30-3-2015 at the office of the KSHE and requested the meeting to look for the possibility of marketing the academic programmes abroad with the help of Tourism Department. Meeting discussed the matter in detail and decided to place this Academic Tourism as an Agenda Item in the next meeting in presence of officials from Tourism Department.
G. UCIC officials and foreign students studying in MGU participated in the International Students Meet jointly organized by the KSHEC and ICCR, New Delhi at Trivandrum during January 2015.

UCIC received the grant of Rs. 5 crores for the construction of International Scholars Hostel at Mahatma Gandhi University campus during 2015 and the process of the construction of the same has been initiated. UCIC received a financial award of Rs. 10 Lakhs from the Department of Higher Education, Government of Kerala for promoting India Study Programme.
