The Mahatma Gandhi University has established University Centre for International Cooperation (UCIC) as an integral part of the interdisciplinary convergence academia centre during 2010, the International Students Centre is one of the important part of the University. The Centre has established itself as one of the premier institutions in the country for the study of international relations and area studies. The Centre has made pioneering contributions in promoting the study of international relations as an academic discipline in India and in advancing knowledge and understanding of international affairs in an interdisciplinary perspective. It has also acquired an international reputation as a centre of advanced learning. The centre is able to explore internationalization in the campus by promoting inward and outward students movement through MOU, exchange, Central Govt Scholarship and Self Supporting nature. The major activities of the centre are co-ordinating the admission process of ICCR sponsored International Students and those coming in self-supporting scheme to various schools and affiliated colleges, providing accommodation and ensuring the stay of the International Students, organizing semester abroad programmes, conducting awareness programme to aspirants for promoting travel abroad for studies and to act as a catalyst in establishing MOU between various University schools and Universities abroad. We have been successful in admitting 130 International students so far for various programmes in the University.

The Mission of the Mahatma Gandhi University is to be a global, socially conscious Centre of Excellence in the conservation, creation, advancement and dissemination of knowledge, equipped to take up challenges of the enormous change taking place all around and committed to empower its faculty and students to contribute meaningfully to economic, technological and social development and progress and also facilitating and developing strategic links with other institutions of higher learning and participating in internationalization of higher education and research.

VISIONS:

1. To promote the understanding of ‘the other’ through the exchanges, both cultural and academic.
2. To enable Indian students to experience international education through exchange programmes / visits / Digital Video Conferences.
3. To enhance the scholarly pursuits of University and overseas faculties with appropriate exchanges.
4. To promote qualitative research by becoming a part of the global joint research teams conducting research in frontier areas.
5. To develop the teaching – learning process by including latest technological advances and addressing scientific, social, economic, political and cultural problems of India and abroad by promoting comparative studies in the curriculum.
6. To encourage interaction with overseas delegations.
